Celebrating World Toilet Day: A Thankful Commitment to Safe Sanitation for All
As we enter the third week of our 30 Days of Thanks, we reflect on an important global issue—sanitation. Coinciding with World Toilet Day, this week serves as a reminder of the need for clean, safe sanitation for everyone, everywhere.
In recognition of World Toilet Day, United Site Services will donate a portion of revenue collected to the American Red Cross to support those in need. Join us in this effort by purchasing on World Toilet Day. Let’s start a conversation here.
What is World Toilet Day?
World Toilet Day, founded by the United Nations, raises awareness of the global sanitation crisis. With 4.2 billion people worldwide lacking access to safely managed sanitation, many face poor health, environmental contamination, and social stigma daily.
The Sanitation Crisis in the U.S.
While World Toilet Day highlights global disparities, sanitation challenges are also felt closer to home. In the U.S., millions of unsheltered homeless individuals live without access to clean, safe sanitation. This issue is especially pronounced in urban centers, where public restrooms and hygiene services are limited, further marginalizing vulnerable populations.
United Site Services: Addressing the Sanitation Gap
At United Site Services, we’re committed to supporting underserved communities by providing essential sanitation services. Through partnerships with cities and municipalities, we help create safe, humane sanitation options for people experiencing homelessness. One key initiative is the Los Angeles Pit Stops program, which provides vital services for homeless communities across the city.
The Los Angeles Pit Stops Program: A Lifeline for Homeless Communities
The Los Angeles Pit Stops program offers consistent access to clean restrooms and handwashing stations in high-need areas. These services improve hygiene, public health, and dignity for individuals who lack basic sanitation. Clean, secure facilities help homeless individuals maintain their health and well-being while preventing the spread of disease.

Gratitude in Action: 30 Days of Thanks
As part of our 30 Days of Thanks, we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve our customers and make a difference in the lives of those in need. We appreciate our partnerships with local governments and organizations working to provide critical services in challenging conditions. This season of thanks reminds us of our ability to contribute to solutions that improve public health, safety, and dignity for all.
Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Sanitation for All
As we continue through the 30 Days of Thanks, our mission remains focused on ensuring access to clean sanitation for everyone—whether through portable restrooms at events or essential services for homeless populations. We are proud to be part of the solution to the global sanitation crisis and invite you to join us in supporting World Toilet Day’s mission.
Together, we can work toward a future where safe sanitation is a reality for all.
Thank You.
Let’s continue to express gratitude for the good in our lives and use our resources to positively impact others. Whether in our own communities or across the globe, everyone deserves access to clean sanitation. Let’s work together to make that happen.
