Celebrating World Toilet Day: A Thankful Commitment to Safe Sanitation for All 

As we enter the third week of our 30 Days of Thanks, we reflect on an important global issue—sanitation. Coinciding with World Toilet Day, this week serves as a reminder of the need for clean, safe sanitation for everyone, everywhere.

What is World Toilet Day? 

World Toilet Day, founded by the United Nations, raises awareness of the global sanitation crisis. With 4.2 billion people worldwide lacking access to safely managed sanitation, many face poor health, environmental contamination, and social stigma daily. 

The Sanitation Crisis in the U.S. 

While World Toilet Day highlights global disparities, sanitation challenges are also felt closer to home. In the U.S., millions of unsheltered homeless individuals live without access to clean, safe sanitation. This issue is especially pronounced in urban centers, where public restrooms and hygiene services are limited, further marginalizing vulnerable populations. 

United Site Services: Addressing the Sanitation Gap 

At United Site Services, we’re committed to supporting underserved communities by providing essential sanitation services. Through partnerships with cities and municipalities, we help create safe, humane sanitation options for people experiencing homelessness.
