The Truth About Renting Portable Toilets: Five Myths Debunked
When you think portable toilets, you may think smelly, gross, cramped and uncomfortable. This may be true in some cases, if you are working with a vendor that does not provide reliable products and service. If you partner with a reliable portable sanitation company, you will find that these factors become a non-issue.
Here is a list of 5 misconceptions about renting restrooms:
Myth # 1 – All portable toilets stink!
With regular (reliable) service and the right number of toilets at your event or on your job site, your portable toilet should not smell. United Site Services not only pumps out the holding tank and cleans the inner bowl of the unit, but also provides meticulous janitorial service both inside and out. Our employees clean and sanitize the portable restrooms at each service, which includes washing with soap and water. We also provide a special detergent in the water, which acts not only as a sanitizer but deodorizer as well, to keep the unit smelling great while reducing exposure to germs.
Myth # 2 – Portable restrooms can’t be luxurious.
Have you ever been in one of our Black Tie luxury restroom trailers? Probably not, if you still believe that portable restrooms can’t be luxurious. Black Tie restroom trailers offered by United Site Services include high-end finishes such as premium wood, elegant countertops, and richly stained cabinetry. These trailers will delight guests at even the most formal events. Porcelain toilets are fully enclosed in private stalls and urinals are partitioned. The Black Tie restroom rental comes complete with climate control, sound system, powered ventilation, concealed plumbing, hot and cold running water, and decorative mirrors and accents. Restroom trailers offer portability and accessibility while still providing the comforts of home.
Myth # 3 – Portable toilets are harmful to the environment.
Wrong! In fact it’s just the opposite. Portable restrooms are more environmentally friendly than your household bathroom. Portable restrooms actually reduce fresh water usage by approximately 13 million gallons per day! At United Site Services, sustainability and caring for our environment is something we strive for each day. We use formaldehyde-free deodorizers, aerosol-free hand pumps, and Energy Star equipment in all our daily business practices.
Myth # 4 – My portable toilet rental is not at risk for damage so I don’t need the optional damage coverage.
Mother Nature can be cruel and unpredictable. There is a chance that weather you were not planning on could cause damage to your unit. Or if you are using the toilets for large public crowds and the units are not secured, who can say what might happen! United Site Services offers a protection program that eliminates back charges for damages that occur as a result of accidents, vandalism or weather related problems. This coverage protects you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you consider the costs (sometimes as high as $1,200) for a replacement unit or equipment, the Damage Waiver is indeed a small price to pay (only $7.95 per standard unit or less than 30 cents per day!) to eliminate the risk.
Myth #5 – Portable toilet rentals are expensive.
Porta Potty rentals are not free, but they certainly are not expensive when you think about the cost-saving benefits. If you are a Special Events Manager and you order plenty of toilets, guests will spend less time waiting in long restroom lines and more time at your concessions spending money.
There are a few misconceptions about portable toilets out there – some may be true if you are not working with a reliable restroom rental company. The important thing is to find the right vendor that has the experience and track record in delivering you the cleanest units and the most reliable service.
